Why Families Love Legion Field Playground
Legion Field Playground is a tucked-away play space located within Falmouth’s 14-acre Legion Field complex. Although the park sits near busy Route 1, the playground is set well back from the road and surrounded by athletic fields, paved paths, grassy areas, and mature trees.
The playground is especially convenient for families visiting the nearby Falmouth Memorial Library. The library is within walking distance, making this an easy place to enjoy some outdoor play before or after story time.
Its central Falmouth location also places families close to shopping, restaurants, snacks, and coffee. You could easily combine a playground visit with a library trip, lunch, or a few errands.
Legion Field contains four baseball fields, so expect the entire complex—including its parking areas—to become much busier when games and practices are taking place.

Main Play Structure
The playground has one connected structure with a variety of traditional climbing and sliding features. Children can use the stairs or one of several climbing elements to move between the different sections.

Getting There & Getting Around
Parking: Legion Field has two parking lots with space for approximately 90 vehicles. One lot is accessible from Depot Road and the other from Legion Road. The Depot Road entrance near the American Legion may provide the easiest route to the playground.
Finding the Playground: The playground is tucked inside the athletic complex and may not be immediately visible from the parking area. From the Depot Road side, follow the paved path into the park toward the baseball fields. The playground sits within a circular paved plaza.
Accessibility: A paved walking path leads from the parking area to the playground and continues around portions of the park. The path is suitable for strollers, but the surface underneath the playground equipment is mulch.
Cell Service/Wi-Fi: Cell service should generally be reliable due to the park’s central Falmouth location. Public Wi-Fi is not available at the playground.

Parent Pointers
Visibility: Good. The connected play structure and surrounding benches make it fairly easy to supervise children. Trees and equipment may briefly interrupt sightlines in a few places.
Safety Notes: The playground is not fenced, but it is set well back from the road. Younger children should still be supervised around the paths, parking areas, and athletic fields.
