August in the Sebago Lake Region is still unmistakably summer, but you can feel the season beginning to shift. The evenings grow cooler, the lake is at its warmest, and families start fitting in “just one more” beach day, hike, or ice cream stop before school routines return.
It’s the month of blueberry picking, roadside farm stands, farmers markets, quiet mornings at the beach, and making the most of the weeks that are left. With many tourists heading home as schools begin earlier elsewhere, favorite local spots often become just a little less crowded—making August one of the best times to enjoy everything our region has to offer.
