Hi,

I am a lifelong Mainer and the creator of Lake Region Kids Calendar! As a mom of two living and playing in the Sebago Lake Region, I love staying active indoors and outdoors, sharing local hidden gems, and highlighting the kid and family friendly events and activities that make our community special.
Fall in Maine, particularly around Sebago Lake, is celebrated with various beloved festivals and fairs, offering activities like pumpkin picking, corn mazes, and live music. Highlights for 2026 include the Sunflower Festival, Hurricane Meadows Fall Festival, and Fryeburg Fair, providing family-friendly fun and community engagement amidst the beautiful autumn scenery.
Apple picking in Maine offers a delightful fall experience for families, with local orchards like Brackett’s and Randall Orchards providing pick-your-own opportunities, seasonal activities, and treats like cider donuts. This cherished tradition allows families to enjoy the outdoors while supporting local farms. Remember to check fruit availability before visiting.
Town Farm Playground in Buxton is ideal for ages 2-8, featuring climbing equipment and swings, but lacks a traditional structure. It’s surrounded by green spaces for additional play. Families can enjoy a walking path and should prepare for sun exposure. Limited seating is available, and the park is not fenced.
Mayberry Hill Preserve in Casco offers families a variety of hiking options, including an accessible Field Trail and a 0.9-mile Loop Trail. The preserve features a nature playspace, several resting spots, and a seasonal StoryWalk. Ideal for introducing young children to hiking, it combines adventure with accessibility for all ages.
Stay updated on family friendly events happening in the Sebago Lake Region!
