Tips for Visiting Raymond Playgrounds

Choose your playground based on the outing you want:

  • Have children of different ages? Try Sheri Gagnon Memorial Park, with separate structures for younger and older kids.
  • Looking for a fenced playground? Visit Raymond Elementary School outside school and program hours.
  • Want playground time plus basketball or pickleball? Bring your equipment to Sheri Gagnon Memorial Park.
  • Have kids who enjoy climbing challenges? Try the web climber and rock wall at Raymond Elementary School.
  • Want to combine playground time with a walk? Both locations offer opportunities to explore beyond the play equipment.
  • Planning a picnic? Sheri Gagnon Memorial Park has a pavilion and picnic tables.

Respect school and program hours:
Raymond Elementary School is an active school property. Visit only when school, childcare, recreation programs, and other scheduled activities are not using the grounds.

Bring your own sports equipment:
Pack a basketball or pickleball equipment for Sheri Gagnon Memorial Park, or a ball or frisbee for the grassy spaces.

Plan for sunshine:
Shade is limited at Raymond Elementary School. Bring sunscreen, hats, and plenty of water, especially during warm weather.

Consider bathroom availability:
Sheri Gagnon Memorial Park has seasonal portable toilets. Public restrooms and drinking fountains are not available at Raymond Elementary School when the building is closed.

Pack for a nature walk:
If you plan to explore the walking path or Frog Pond Trail, bring suitable shoes and bug spray. Stay close to younger children around the pond.

Exploring local playgrounds is one of the easiest ways to add more outdoor time to your family’s day. You don’t need an elaborate plan or a long drive—sometimes a playground, a snack, and a little room to run are all you need.

In Raymond, families can choose between a community park with equipment for different ages and nearby sports courts, or a fenced school playground with climbing challenges and a nature trail to explore.
