Why Families Love Windham Community Park

Windham Community Park is a handy spot for families who enjoy shooting hoops, skating, or playing volleyball together.

Located on Gray Road, the park brings together the Pat Moody Basketball Courts, a concrete skate park, and two beach volleyball courts. Admission is free, making it an easy option for an active afternoon with kids or a casual meetup with friends.

A large covered pavilion with four picnic tables gives families a place to take a break, enjoy snacks, or share a picnic between activities.

This park works particularly well for older children and families with different interests. Bring your own equipment so everyone can choose how they want to spend their time.

Play & Explore

Park Features

  • Two basketball courts
  • Seasonal basketball court lighting
  • Concrete skate park
  • Beach volleyball
  • Large covered pavilion with four picnic tables
  • Picnic space
  • On-site parking

Pat Moody Basketball Courts

The park has two basketball courts, giving families room to practice shooting, work on skills, or meet friends for a game. The courts are named in memory of Pat Moody.

Court lights run between sunset and 10 p.m. from April through November, extending the opportunity to play as daylight gets shorter.

Pack a basketball for a quick stop after school or bring the whole family for a casual game. Share the space with other players and check posted notices for reservations or scheduled activities.

Skate Park

Windham Community Park includes a concrete skate park, giving kids and teens another way to stay active outside.

For families with a child who enjoys skating and another who prefers basketball, having both activities at the same park makes planning an outing easier.

Bring a helmet and appropriate protective gear. Younger or less experienced riders may appreciate a quieter visit when they have more room to practice. Before entering, watch how other riders move through the space and review the posted rules.

Beach Volleyball

The park’s sand volleyball court  offers space for a friendly family game or an outing with a group of friends.

Bring your own volleyball and adjust the game to suit your children’s ages and abilities. Younger kids can practice tossing and returning the ball, while older children and adults may enjoy a full game.

Covered Picnic Pavilion

The large covered pavilion has four picnic tables, making it a useful place to regroup while visiting the park.

Pack lunch, bring an afternoon snack, or take a water break between games. The covered seating also gives parents a place to rest while accompanying children at the recreation facilities.

Rest & Refuel

Shade: The covered pavilion provides a sheltered place to sit. Plan for sun while using the courts and skate park.
Seating: Four picnic tables beneath the pavilion.
Picnic Space: Bring snacks or a packed meal to enjoy at the covered tables.
