Trail Experience
Cascade Falls is one of those trails that feels much bigger than it actually is. Although the main walk is only about half a mile, there are plenty of things to keep kids engaged from start to finish.
The trail begins from a large parking area and follows a wide, gently sloping stone dust path through a shady forest. Most of this section is smooth enough for strollers, making it a great option for families with babies or toddlers who still ride while older siblings walk alongside.
One of the first highlights is the Fairy Village, where dozens of tiny fairy homes built from sticks, bark, pinecones, and other natural materials are tucked among the trees. Kids are encouraged to admire the creations—or even build one of their own using natural items they find on the forest floor.
As you continue, the sound of rushing water grows louder before Cascade Falls comes into view. Unlike many waterfalls that can only be admired from a distance, families can carefully climb down onto the rocks and right up to the base of the falls. On warm summer days, many children enjoy splashing in the cool water beneath the cascade.
The final approach to the waterfall becomes rocky with uneven footing, so you’ll want to leave strollers behind before heading down to the water.
