Held once a month throughout the year, these free community swap events make it easy to pass along gently-used items you no longer need — and find something new-to-you in return. It’s a simple, sustainable way to refresh your home, reduce waste, and support a culture of sharing right here in the Sebago Lake Region.
Whether you’re clearing out puzzles, kids’ toys, books, or craft supplies, each month features a different theme so there’s always something new to browse.

What Is the Windham Library Swap Meet?
The Windham Public Library will host a recurring Swap Meet series designed to encourage reuse, recycling, and community connection.
Here’s how it works:
- Bring clean, gently-used items that fit the month’s theme
- Browse and take home anything you need
- No money exchanged — everything is free
- Leftover items are donated to local charities
It’s a low-pressure, family-friendly way to declutter responsibly while helping others in the community.
2026 Swap Meet Schedule
All swaps take place from 1:00–3:00 PM at the Windham Public Library.
January 3 – Puzzles (all ages)
February 7 – Craft Supplies (all ages)
March 7 – Children’s Toys
April 4 – Books (all ages)
May 2 – Sports Equipment (all ages)
September 12 – Plants & Seeds
October 3 – Children’s Costumes
November 7 – Office Supplies
December 5 – Games (all ages)
Each month features a different theme, so be sure to check ahead before you go!
What You Can Bring
Items must be clean, gently used, and in good condition. Nothing broken or missing important parts.
Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s accepted:
Examples by Category
- Puzzles: jigsaw puzzles, puzzle books, 3D puzzles
- Craft Supplies: fabric, paper, stamps, paint, brushes, tape
- Children’s Toys: blocks, trucks, dolls, bikes (no stuffed animals)
- Books: all ages welcome (no magazines, textbooks, or encyclopedia sets)
- Sports Equipment: balls, rackets, skates, gloves, sticks
- Plants & Seeds: labeled and in clean containers
- Office Supplies: pens, folders, staplers, paper
- Games: board games, card games, lawn games
Items can only be dropped off and taken during swap hours (1–3 PM).
What Happens to Leftover Items?
Anything not taken during the swap is donated to local organizations, including:
- SHAREcenter
- Lots for Tots
- Play It Again Sports
- Girl Scouts of Maine
- Goodwill
It’s a great way to give items a second life while supporting local nonprofits.
