Getting out of the house with kids isn’t something that just happens—it’s something you learn over time.

There were seasons where getting out felt like the harder option. Staying home was easier, more predictable, less work. So we started small. Short outings, familiar places, low expectations. And little by little, it built from there. What once felt like a big effort became part of our routine. We found the places we enjoy, figured out what to bring, and learned what actually works for our family.

That’s a big part of why I built Lake Region Kids Calendar. Not to add more to your plate—but to make it easier to follow through on something you already want. Because if you’ve subscribed to this newsletter, there’s a reason. You want to get out more. You want your kids outside, exploring, experiencing more than just the same four walls.

You don’t need a perfect plan—you just need a place to start. Let me help you decide where to go this week.

This is how it starts to come together over time.

Not with big, perfectly planned days—but with small, consistent ones. A place you try once, then return to. An outing that feels a little easier than the last. The more you get out, the more it becomes part of your routine—and the more your kids begin to expect and look forward to it.

That’s what I’m building here each week. A simple way to help you follow through on that desire to get out more—without overthinking it.

If something here helped you decide where to go this week, pass it along. Share it with a friend, a neighbor, grandparents—anyone who’s spending time with your kids and looking for an easy way to get out.

The more this gets shared, the more families find their way to these places—and the more these small, everyday outings start to shape what our communities look like.

Thanks for being here.

See you out there,
Lauren
